Saturday Inspires – Ladies

I love looking at beautiful women. There is something about looking at women dressed like I want to look like that inspires me. I’ve loved looking at fashion magazines and Victoria’s Secrets for years and I still like seeing a good looking woman. So, here is my own inspirations for this Saturday.

So, any lovely ladies inspire you?

Lanterns

Emily Dickinson Lanterns  When I saw this quote from Emily Dickinson, I thought it had to be from a poem  and I wanted to find it. Sadly, it seems to be just a quote. I feel it could have been something marvelous.
I found this wonderful picture, and combined the quote with it, and I think it’s perfect.
It reminds me of Loreena McKennitt‘s song ‘The Mummers Dance,’ and sometimes I feel I need to go looking for myself. What a more romantic way than by lantern light.

Happy Sunday

Suck the Fat

I love this. I keep bouncing up against it when I pop into one of my folders and it always makes me laugh.
Granted, I try to avoid people that suck the life out of me…. except for the people that take my blood when I donate. I actually like them…. And they are sucking my life….. Lol.

My advice is to avoid people that suck the life.

Happy Sunday.

Saturday Inspires – Books, Ink, Coffee… Mostly In That Order

Books. Gotta have ’em. Ink. Love it; need it. Coffee. Well, as we all know, a must.

I think all of these things inspire this blog. Maybe because they are all what get me through the day. I can’t live without books. I have been debating a Kindle for a while now, and I have the opportunity to get one for a decent price due to sales and gift cards and what not, but honestly, I’m just not ready. Most of the books; in fact all of the books I read are real books. I hold them in my hand. I don’t want to have to purchase books I want to read for my kindle, when I can spent a quarter at my local library. I’d much rather support the library than anything else.  I’m just not read.

Ink. Well, as a writer, that is crucial.  There I was in the post office today and thankfully I had a pen at hand. I yanked an envelope out of the trash bin and started making a list poem from the bulletin board.  Someone recently just clued me in to how unique our bulletin boards are in my town. We have several of them and you can get anything from a cord of wood to kittens. Just check the boards.

Coffee.  Lord knows I can’t live without my coffee. Right now I have been seriously overindulging in the cafe. I think 7 cups is more than I really should be drinking. I mixed it up tonight with a cup of Gingerbread tea. (Celestial Seasonings) It was herbal, so that was a change. But I love my coffee. If I liked the local coffee shop more, I’d spend too much time there. Since I don’t, I don’t spend time there. Ha!

Here are images that I keep to inspire me all relating to books, ink, and coffee. There might be tea in here too, because, hey, as a writer, we drink a lot of tea as well.

Enjoy.

Saturday Inspires – Book Covers

I love book covers. Sometimes more than the book itself, in which case, I don’t read the book, but I get the image of the cover. It’s kind of like coffee. Coffee smells way better than it tastes. (I still drink plenty of coffee so it is a loose analogy)
Some of my favorite covers are my Emilie Loring books, and honestly, all Jane Austen covers are beautiful. I’m even a fan of all those silly romance covers because it’s, well, silly. Always in a state of passionate undress.

So, do you have any favorite book covers that you like more than the book itself?

Happy Saturday

Oh. My. Gosh. Yes!  I swear it took a half hour for that pot to perk the other morning. It was only 12 minutes but seriously. I NEED coffee first thing. Do not talk to me until I have at least poured a cup and I’m sitting on the couch. I cannot think without coffee. And at least two cups minimum in the morning.

So, happy Sunday. I will be having plenty of coffee this morning. Possibly while I watch In The Kitchen with David (QVC and don’t mock me. He’s hilarious)

Saturday Inspires – Men

Men. Gentlemen. Guys. I love them. I collect them, so to speak. Okay, it’s more I collect images of them. Certain actors catch my fancy when they have a specific look. I like Ben Affleck only in Argo. Hence my one image of him. Same with George Clooney… I only like him in a couple things. And this collage does not even express all the other actors and guys I like. I just had these in a file and started selecting. There is a whole host of guys I’d add if I could. Oh, and I should add, all of these guys give me inspiration for characters in books. Though most have not become a character. Only five that I can think of. Tyler Hubbard of FGL, Colin O’Donaghue, Martin Freeman, and Campbell Scott, Alexander Skarsgard, are all inspirations for characters. I have three people I actually know within this list. Two are actors; Jesse James Youngblood and John A. Lorenz, were up filming a movie called Heathens and Thieves a few years ago. I was able to meet both of them and I’m still in contact with them. Great Guys by the way. Oh and my first crush is in here too. Cal. He’s the inspiration for a character as well. But I don’t tell him that. I might make him blush. 🙂

So, whew. I got going. Hence the first image. Happy Saturday, dearies. Signing off Kate
